On Friday 3 September 2010, ASEM Ambassadors in Brussels attended a final briefing before the ASEM 8 Summit on 4-5 October. Ambassadors’ Briefings have been organized at regular points in time throughout the past year. They prove to be a good way to keep ASEM partners closely involved in the preparations of the Summit and to establish personal contacts with the Summit Host entities in charge.
During their final briefing, ASEM ambassadors were informed of the state of play regarding objectives and outputs of the Summit. They were reminded of the schedule of work for the month left before the Summit and to help the Summit Host collect the practical information necessary for a smooth running of the event. Finally, ambassadors were briefed on the parallel events and in particular on the Asia-Europe Business Forum and the planned breakfast meetings between the Heads of State and Government/Heads of Delegation and the high-level business executives.
