Asia-Europe Business Forum

Egmont Palace, Brussels, Belgium

The Asia-Europe Business Forum (AEBF) brings together business leaders who share the goal of strengthening trade and investment relations between Asia and Europe. The AEBF traditionally convenes in parallel with the ASEM Summit and develops recommendations that are addressed to the Asian and European Leaders.

The 12th AEBF on the margins of the ASEM 8 Summit in Brussels is coordinated by the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (VBO-FEB). Its core theme will be the expansion of economic ties between Asia and Europe in view of the present economic and financial circumstances. The working title “Financial Services Industry: Opportunities and Challenges for Asia and Europe” has been defined in recognition of the role that the financial sector has to play in the restoration of the credit and investment flows between the two regions and in the financing of the innovation of traded products and services.

The recommendations of the AEBF 2010 will be discussed with the ASEM leaders during a breakfast meeting early on the second day of the ASEM 8 Summit.

Expected participation:
